“What’s Up” Wednesday 8.06.14

August may be a quiet month in the District and its surrounding areas, but our nonprofits are still hard at work! Take a look at “what’s up” this week!

At Step Afrika!, students kicked off day 3 of camp! Today was a special one because the campers were able to participate in a master class of their choosing, from modern, to hip-hop, to percussion, to acrobatics.

District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH) DC‘s community garden was in full bloom, and ready to be harvested for cooking class (we hear that fresh tomato sauce for spaghetti is on the menu!).

At CentroNia, PreK students participated in a special yoga class introducing them to a whole new way to exercise.

Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services continued their back-to-school drive.

After calling Adams Morgan home for more than two decades, the team at Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) settled into their new office at WeWork Wonderbread Factory in the Shaw neighborhood.

Congrats on another great week!
